Blog!
I haven’t used this thing in FOREVER! I need to get back into the hang of it.  I used to blog daily, I guess work has been preventing me from doing that. So on one hand, Mingle Graphics has really been picking up! Thankfully, business has increased steadily.  On the other hand, it keeps me busy.  So I have less time for free time, but I guess that is what you get when you own a business. ...

Well.. I tried to design something.
Link: http://www.calebmingle.com/ It’s really simple.. but I wanted to try and make something look at least “decent”. I’m not a designer, but I wanted to try and make something. Hopefully it’s not too bad.

Twitistics
I’ve got a new project coming up in the next few weeks. I’m making it with Greg (http://gnoice.com). The purpose of the project is to, of course, provide statisitcs about your Twitter account. So far I’ve been working on it quite diligently.  I’ve generated some pretty neat statistics about Twitter user’s accounts. Here is what I’m generating, and able to...

Accurate Twitter Statistics vs Efficiency
I wrote about Twitter Statistics earlier today, but got to thinking about the actual processing time of generating these. The more tweets/followers your analyze, the more accurate the results are going to be for a time period. But, the problem here is: the more tweets/followers you analyze, the longer it takes. Tweets are displayed (at maximum through the API), at two hundred per page. ...

Twitter Statistics
The statistics you can grab from Twitter are pretty nice surprisingly. I’m working on an internal project at the moment, that can calculate a few things. Of course the more Tweets you analyze, the more accurate the results you’re going to get. I’ve been calculating your most popular day that you’re tweeting, the most popular time, reply statistics (about who you reply to...

Phasing out IE6
We’re going to have to do it sometime.  Those users using it, need to get on their high horses and upgrade, c’mon, even older version of Firefox render better then IE6. Someone told me this morning (and showed me) how Tweet O’Clock looked on IE6 because of transparent PNGs. Yeah, it looked like crap.. so what do we do?  Do we spend more time designing and coding to make it look...

Tweet O'Clock on Mashable
Well a site me and @awfy created yesterday surprised me, it’s now on Mashable’s Twitter! That’s the first time I’ve ever been involved with something actually recognized.. It seems the best time to Tweet @mashable is on a Monday at 5PM (GMT)! We’ll see where it goes from here!

OS X
Well I recently installed OS X on my PC.  I’ve been venturing, and wanting to buy a Mac for a while, and I’ve seen so many people using, and loving OS X.. I couldn’t stand it anymore. I had a few problems at first, getting things to work and all, but if you don’t have problems.. what fun is it? I’ve got most of it down pat.. I’ve installed Coda, and listening...

Blogging.
I really need to start updating this more. I’ve updated my skin to a new one, thank you Mr. Gregorie Cooper.  This is his old one.  I liked it.  It’s better then my old one. I’ve really not been online much recently, just a few hours a day (if that), to chat about and check things. I’ve been working a bunch physically (imagine that), on a project behind my house. ...

Voltage - iPod Touch 2G Jailbreaking/Booting App
Wow! That was a long title for a post. I haven’t updated my blog in quite a while now, and you’re probably not wondering why, but I have released an iPod Touch 2G Jailbreaking and Booting application. It’s called Voltage. Weird name you might say, but I had a bottle of the new “Mountain Dew Voltage” sitting on my desk yesterday when I changed the name from...

Patience
I really need to work on patience, with other people.  I have a really low tolerence on things, and lots of things seem to aggrivate me… and they shouldn’t. For the past good while, I’ve been hanging around/lurking in #itouch and a few other channels discussing jailbreaking and other things. I got directed here after hearing about redsn0w, and I sort of “got lost”...

libusb and Windows.
Well lets just say, my past day and a half, have not been great at all. I attempted to install a library, for windows, called libusb.  Little did I know, that libusb did not support Windows. (it came in a package that I downloaded, so I figured what the heck, it should work..) So I installed it, everything was going great, until it started “Loading libusb kernel” and my USB devices...

Motivation to work, and problems
Recently I’ve had quite a “lack of motivation” to work on a project of mine, AXE. It all started when I developed a problem.  The backup solution was duplicating files and folders, and was creating a very wrong folder structure. / /files/blah /files/blah /files/files/blah /files/files/files/blah It was messing up when it got to a complex directory (/blah/blah/blah) with many...

Screenkast
I just thought I’d share this nice, simple site to you that I found the other day. It was created by a friend of mine, Greg Cooper, and displays screencasts about startups and desktop applications that ‘float his boat’. Now you might be thinking, “oh god, more mediocre screencasts from noobs that haven’t a clue”.  Well you are more then wrong. Screenkast is...

It all comes back down..
I absolutely hate when things go wrong.  I’m a stress freak, and I won’t stop doing something until I either get it right; or something goes even more wrong to get my mind off of the previous thing. I don’t like to give up.. at all.  I’ll continue to work on something and/or figure something out, until it gets done. Most of the time this is a negative thing though. ...

Startup vs. Mainstream
I seem to ask myself questions like this constantly.. and think through the logic, and the answers in my head. Why would someone choose to use a small startup, versus a well known established “mainstream” service. A good example of this, in relation to me, would why would someone choose to use TehUpload/DoPaul over Tinypic, Imageshack, etc. Now I’m not saying a great deal of...

I'm an awful, terrible coder
Recently I have taken a different stance upon looking at myself, my skill level, and my productivity. How can one improve themselves, if to themselves.. they don’t need improving? That’s sort of my “new take” on things. In the past, I’ve always seen myself better then some coders.. and groups of people.. and I’ve put down other people’s work a lot of the...

Virtual Folders
Working with ‘AXE’ (DoPaul).. I have noticed recently that everything is harder working with virual volders. The organization is great, the idea behind it is great, and the benefits of it are great.. But the actual process of handling information with it.. is really a pain in the butt. The basic organization of the folders table is like this: table: folder id (int) primary_key   //...

Mountain Dew Addiction
As you can tell from my photo, posted below.. I have quite a serious and extreme addiction to the soft drink known globally, as Mountain Dew (now Mtn Dew.. what amazing branding). Anyways, back to my addiction.. it’s gotten quite awful recently.. I went from drinking little normal drink bottles, to 2 Liters.. daily. The picture below, is two days worth of drinking Mountain Dew. 5 - 2...

Logical, illogical programming. KISS.
I’ve found the paradox.. that quite often, it’s illogical to be too logical. Now you might be wondering what I mean by this often-times confusing statement.  Basically.. it means; you’ve made something too complicated, for what it really is. As a coder, I often find myself coming down to this, and getting quite frustrated at myself, and my coding.. for making things too...

Pandora (iPod Touch)
I put down Pandora a few months ago, saying how awful it was, and how much better Grooveshark was.. Now I realize just how wrong I am, after the recent purchase of my iPod Touch. I can’t imagine my life without Pandora.  I could be listening to my music on my iPod yes.. but think, should we really be using Apple’s crappy ‘Genius’ (with a very low IQ?) No.  Pandora for...

Lost and found..
I seriously think that my desk it like a “lost and found” for anyone in this house. Anything that anyone finds, that doesn’t belong to them, ends up on my desk.. in my precious work area! Then whenever people lose something, they always come prowling around my desk looking for it, disturbing me! I really think I need to save some money, and build me an addition to the house, a...
